Larkya La Pass, Manaslu Circuit, Nepal

Scroll

Sixteen days walking the Himalayas pulled us through dusty gorges and the faded green of subalpine forests, all the way up to the glacial peaks. A desaturated landscape kept us company until Larkya La Pass, where the oxygen thinned out and the snow grew heavy.

GEOLOGICAL PROFILE: A high-altitude glacial pass, carved through high-grade metamorphic gneisses and granitic intrusions.
